Finally, their serial number system is practically pointless. Thought I should put a warning out to anyone thinking of scoring a good deal on eBay. Fakes most likely have the same serial number copied off a real club and there’s probably several hundred sets out there with the same number. Also, compare the font shape of the serial number with that of a real one. I really wish TaylorMade and eBay would do more to educate buyers about this problem.

As this becomes more exposed there will be a dramatic loss of buyer confidence in eBay and they stand to loose as well. These clubs look almost perfect and the only way you can really spot the fake is if you hold it side by side with a real one. Please log in to reply.
TaylorMade’s counterfeiting page is buried in the Customer Service section of their website and few prospective buyers will look there. Also, can you let us know who the sellers on eBay are? Here’s what to look for: It’s costing TaylorMade a fortune in lost revenue since ebayers are unknowingly buying fake product when they would otherwise buy the real thing and will likely be dissatisfied with the performance. A simple phone call to TM would let you know if you are buying from a legit source.

Posted 04 September – Look closely at every printed detail and how high it’s printed on the shaft, I noticed several discrepancies here. From all the homework I’ve done on this and all the eBay postings I’ve looked at.
It will probably check out with TaylorMade find out if their records show the same shaft, flex, and set composition as you bought. Yes, people can be that gullible. Remember me This is not recommended for shared computers.

Go after the Chinese government as so many Swiss Watch brands have to crack down on manufacture of such fake goods. Why are they not tracking registrations, number of verifications and the exact distribution channel of every single item that someone calls in to verify or registers online.

May smell funny because they are made of recycled inferior rubber and the grooves may overlap or run together where they’re not supposed to. Both sellers had excellent feedback, which I think is a testament to how good the fakes are!
I think the main eba stems from the fact that most golfers, particularly newcomers to the game, are not active on discussion boards like this that would warn them counterfeit clubs even exist. TM is the worst when it comes to counterfeits, it seems they dont even care.
